What We Believe
At Church of the Resurrection, our faith is rooted in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe in a God who creates, loves, forgives, and calls people into deeper relationship with God and with one another. Through Jesus, we see God’s compassion, grace, and hope for the world.
As part of the Episcopal Church, we belong to the worldwide Anglican tradition, joining Christians across generations in worship, prayer, service, and thoughtful faith.
The Episcopal Church
The Episcopal Church blends ancient Christian tradition with a spirit of openness, learning, and prayer. Our worship is rooted in Scripture and shaped by the rhythms of the Church year, while making space for questions, growth, and lifelong faith.
We seek to follow Jesus in loving God and loving our neighbors, caring for those in need, and working for peace and justice in the world.

Inclusion, Belonging, and the Love of Christ
We believe every person is created in the image of God and deeply loved by God.
The Episcopal Church seeks to welcome people of every background, age, race, culture, life experience, family structure, sexual orientation, gender identity, and stage of faith. At Church of the Resurrection, we believe the Church is strongest when people are gathered together in grace, compassion, and mutual respect.
We welcome women and men in leadership, families of all kinds, and people from every background as full participants in the life of the Church.
Whether you are full of faith, full of questions, returning after time away, or exploring church for the first time, there is a place for you here.
We do not expect everyone to have life figured out. We believe we grow best by worshiping, learning, and walking together.

Scripture, Tradition, and Reason
Episcopalians often describe our approach to faith through three guiding sources: Scripture, tradition, and reason.
Scripture • The Bible tells the story of God’s relationship with humanity and reveals the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Tradition • We draw wisdom from the historic teachings, prayers, and practices of the Christian Church through the centuries.
Reason • We believe God invites us to think deeply, ask honest questions, and continue growing in understanding.
Together, these help shape how we worship, pray, and live our faith today.
Worship and Sacraments
Worship is central to our life together. Each Sunday we gather to pray, hear Scripture, sing, receive Holy Communion, and be renewed for the week ahead.
Sacraments are outward and visible signs of God’s grace. In the Episcopal Church, Baptism and Holy Communion are central sacraments of the Christian life.
Baptism marks the beginning of a life in Christ and welcomes a person into the Church.
Holy Communion is the sacred meal where we remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and receive spiritual nourishment for the journey of faith.
All are welcome to receive Holy Communion in the Episcopal Church.

A Welcoming Community of Faith
We believe every person is created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, love, and belonging.
At Church of the Resurrection, we seek to reflect Christ’s welcome by opening our doors to people of every background and every stage of faith. Some come with deep faith. Others come with questions or are returning after time away.
Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here.
Living Our Faith
Our beliefs are not only words. They shape how we live.
We seek to grow in faith through worship, prayer, learning, generosity, fellowship, and service to others.
We believe God continues to work through ordinary people and everyday acts of love.
