What Sundays Look Like
Every Sunday we celebrate Holy Communion, hear Scripture, a sermon, sing together, and pray.
If you've never been to an Episcopal service before, you don't need to do anything to prepare. Bulletins guide you through the liturgy, and the people around you are genuinely glad to help.
When you arrive, an usher will greet you, help you find a seat, and point you toward anything you need, including where our children’s program is if you’ve brought kids.
You won’t be asked to stand up, introduce yourself, or do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Just follow along and participate as you feel ready. There’s no pressure to do it right.
Families & Children
At the 10:00 AM service, children are invited to Sunday School following the Gospel reading and return to the sanctuary for Communion.
If you prefer to keep your children with you, that is always welcome. Children’s voices, movement, and wonder are part of worship here.
If you need to step out or move around, please do so freely. You are always welcome here.

About Communion
We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday.
All are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you prefer not to receive, come forward anyway and cross your arms over your chest, you’ll receive a blessing instead. No one is turned away from the table.
If you’re coming from a Catholic background, much of the liturgy will feel familiar, though there are some differences in practice.
If you’re unsure what to do, follow along with the bulletin or simply watch those around you. Ushers will guide each row forward.
Coffee Hour & Adult Forum
After the 10:00 AM service, many people stay for coffee and conversation in the parish hall. You’re welcome to join in or head out at your own pace.
Around 11:10 AM, we gather for Adult Forum, a welcoming time of discussion and learning led by clergy and parishioners. Topics range from Scripture and theology to current events and everyday questions of faith.
If you’ve been carrying questions that never had a safe place to land, this may be worth staying for.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Come as you are. You will find people in everything from jeans to suits and dresses.
How long are the services?
Our services are usually about an hour long.
Do you offer kids programming?
Yes. We offer children’s Sunday School during our 10:00 AM service. Children begin worship with their families, then are invited to Sunday School after the Gospel reading and return to the sanctuary for Communion.
If you prefer to keep your children with you throughout worship, that is always welcome. Children are a valued part of our worship at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
What is the worship music like?
Our music blends the richness of Episcopal tradition with a joyful and uplifting spirit. You’ll hear hymns, choir music, organ or piano, and songs that invite everyone to participate.
We also include contemporary hymns and Gospel influences, with worship that feels upbeat, hopeful, and alive.
What kind of preaching should I expect?
Episcopal sermons are usually thoughtful, practical reflections on the Bible readings for that day, helping connect faith with everyday life, relationships, and the world around us. They tend to be welcoming, grounded, and grace-centered rather than loud, fear-based, or overly political.
Do I have to be an Episcopalian to attend?
Not at all. You don’t have to be Christian, churched, or certain about anything. Wherever you are on your faith journey, or if you’re not sure you’re on one at all, you’re welcome to worship with us.
Is Resurrection an LGBTQ-affirming congregation?
Yes. We’re an openly welcoming and affirming community.
Can I watch a service before I visit in person?
Yes, our 8:00 AM service is available on Zoom every Sunday, and recorded sermons are available on our website.
