We change our world

We work for justice
Working through VOICE, we are actively engaged in being a voice (and hands and feet) for justice in our world. We have:
  • Helped to obtain millions of dollars in community and credit reinvestment in Woodbridge, which was particularly hard-hit by the 2008 mortgage crisis.
  • Helped begin action to make the availability of affordable housing a public priority in Arlington County.
  • Begun a coalition with the other Episcopal Churches in the City of Alexandria to work together, through VOICE, on justice issues in our city.

We help in our City
Resurrection's Boy Scouts Troop is the only one in the metropolitan DC area whose members are autistic or have Asperger's Syndrome. The troop's motto is "No obstacles to adventure."

 We help in our schools
We collected backpacks and school supplies—lots and lots of backpacks and school supplies—and provided them directly to social workers and teachers in Beauregard Corridor schools.

 We feed hungry people
In body, mind, and spirit!

We help around the world
Since the 2010 earthquakes in Haiti, Resurrection and its members have sponsored orphans there by paying for them to live in an orphanage in Mirebalais, Haiti.

Also, we support a world-wide ministry by one of our parishioners, an engineer, who volunteers for various helping-hands projects all around the world.
