Our Music Ministry

The Resurrection Choir

The Resurrection Choir is made up of men and women from ages 12 through the 70's. Our repertoire spans from Renaissance music through Contemporary including jazz and gospel.  We constantly try to expand our library with new and old choral works to heighten the worship service.  Using hymns from several sources we sing a great diversity of music to lead the congregation in reverent and spiritual singing celebrating the different seasons of the church year. Occasionally we enhance the hymns with bells (from our Resurrection Ringers) and additional instruments.

The choir sings at special times of the year such as Holy Week and Christmas adding strings and brass instruments.  During Advent we prepare Lessons and Carols which includes readings from Scripture and seasonal prayers.  All are welcome who desire to sing and although some knowledge of music is desirable it is not necessary. Except during the summer months, rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm. Usually in the fall we have a “Kickoff Party” which is a fun reading session of choral music. Wanting to keep our skills refreshed we are always learning new techniques and vocal assistance.

Resurrection Ringers

While we own a 3 octave set of bells we are always looking for ringers.  If you have experience or just the desire to be a handbell ringer, let's talk about when we can rehearse and play.
